LSS tracks the amount of time users spend on a page and some of their activities.

Which students read the material?  How long?

Learning should be evident by learners spending less time to accomplish a task.

Time spent reviewing can be correlated with outcomes.

Some learners will require one minute to grasp new material while some will be shaky after an hour.  Having rich material available will help all learners.

Studying rich material at their own pace and long as is helpful will enable learners to come to class prepared and provide more time for practice, production, and feedback.

"I like to share videos to help my students understand.  I bookmark YouTube, Vimeo ...  record time slices (e.g. start 1:58 for 39 seconds).  Fairly time consuming and not easy to share with students."
"The internet at my school sucks.  I am not able to show material especially videos reliably."
"My students want to be able to find germaine videos to view again and I know my allies (colleagues) have found/created great videos but it is not easy to find them."

big subject

This school of thought is that fluency counts most in language mastery and vocabulary is the most important part of fluency.  For example, even if the learner's pronunciation is poor if he strings together a full meaningful sentence a native is likely to understand and the learner will get the face time so vital to learning.
